TSG Finishing, LLC and its four operating plants are
dedicated to the enhancement of woven and nonwoven fabrics through specialty chemical
applications and mechanical finishing techniques. These fabric finishing
plants located in the northeastern and southeastern regions of the U.S.A., are able to meet the demands of its customers without
delay.
TSG, an acronym for The Synthetics Group has
been around for over 100 years and is no stranger to the American textile
industry. As one of the largest commission finishers in the United States,
TSG Finishing has grown and prospered by offering their vast facilities and
technical staff to many of America’s l argest (and smallest) companies. Their
customer list reads like a virtual Who’s Who of the fiber and fabric
industry. The irony is that not one of TSG Finishing’s divisions
manufactures or markets a single yard of fabric themselves. TSG Finishing
applies their coatings, chemical saturations, laminations, and mechanical
finishes (calendering, softening, washing, etc.) to
anyone’s fabric. This makes TSG Finishing a service oriented company
capable of enhancing many types of fabric utilized in a growing variety of
products, industries, and markets.
TSG Finishing was founded in 1901 under the name of
Levy’s International Water Shrinking and Drying Company by an Austrian
immigrant named Jacob Levy. Throughout the first half of the century, the
company’s primary business was shrinking, steaming and examining wool
fabric for the apparel industry. From its inception, the company has been
operated as a privately held, family-owned corporation. Now managed by the
fifth family generation of Mr. Levy’s descendants, TSG Finishing has
grown from a small business in a single location to a company with four
production and warehouse facilities in Pennsylvania and North Carolina.
